What type of credit does this course offer?

This course provides 3 to 5 Extension Units of Credit. This is a pass/fail course. You will NOT earn a letter grade, however you will be mailed a report card from Fresno Pacific University showing credit.

What does District Approval mean?

Prior to taking the course, you MUST get the course approved by your school district office. Your district will give you written authorization that you can use these courses toward salary advancement and/or professional growth. Call your D.O. and ask for specific instructions to ensure you will get credit for taking our courses.

Can I take the same course again in the future?

These are FPU Center for Professional Development courses. PDI WILL offer the same types of courses annually with different numbers, titles and content.

What are requirements for earning credit from this course?

Attendance is mandatory! At the end of the course you will be required to submit a final project. The project is designed to help you in the classroom. You will apply knowledge gained from the week of learning to improve some aspect of your teaching. Examples include lesson plans, unit plans, a classroom management plan, a home communication plan. Remember, this project is designed FOR YOU, THE TEACHER.

When and how do I get transcripts?

Upon successful completion of the course you register for, submission of all required course work and materials, Instructor grade sheets will be forwarded to FPU. Then, FPU will send you a grade card and transcript request instructions. Unlike past practices, this turnaround will be done in a timely manner!

Even in these tough economic times, PDI continued to serve educators in the Central Valley and Sierra Foothills.

FALL 2009

We are back to the process of planning for 2009-2010…

June 2010 is starting to take shape…we plan on offerings in Modesto-Merced-Manteca and the Sierra Foothills…

We will be returning to Southern Oregon pluswe are working on a seminar in Southwestern Montana – middle of July, 2010…a real vacation possibility!!!
